Elizabeth E. Houser, M.D.

Elizabeth Houser, M.D., graduated with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin Nursing School in 1979. She then graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Medical School (UTHSCSA) in 1987, again with highest honors. She completed her internship and residency program at UTHSCSA in 1993, and joined the Urology Team, PA the same year.

Dr. Houser was board certified by the American Urologic Society in 1995 and was recertified in 2002. She is also a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, the South Central Section of the American Urological Association, the Travis County Medical Society, and the Society of Women in Urology.

Dr. Houser has published several articles in trade journals, and has served as Primary Investigator in numerous drug trials (primarily related to overactive bladder, incontinence, and female sexual dysfunction).

As a female physician in urology, Dr. Houser is in a unique position to champion women’s healthcare. She actively campaigns to balance the inequities that exist between men’s and women’s healthcare, and to bring awareness of these inequities to the general public.

Her areas of special interest include incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor health, and sexual dysfunction. She also treats male infertility of all kinds and specializes in vasectomy reversal and sperm aspirations.

Dr. Houser lives in Austin, TX with her husband and dogs. Her hobbies include photography, cooking, organic gardening, Pilates, and cycling.
